DeFi perpetual open interest fell by more than $500 million on Oct. 8, while remaining 12.7% above the previous month.

Open interest measures the value of outstanding positions in perpetual contracts. The monthly figure remained higher even after the one-day decline.

Broader crypto-market signals remained mixed as the DeFi derivatives metric moved lower.
