Ether (ETH) rose 2.27% in four hours to $2,479 at 6:18 p.m. ET (22:18 UTC) on Oct. 8, based on TokenPost’s direct collection of public exchange prices.

The move lifted Ether from $2,423 four hours earlier to $2,479 on Binance’s spot ETH/USDT market. Despite the short-term gain, ETH remained down 3.39% from its price 24 hours earlier.

Liquidations across Binance, Bybit and OKX totaled $770,000 during the same one-hour period. Short positions accounted for $690,000 of the total, while long positions accounted for $80,000.

Ether is the second-largest crypto asset by market capitalization.
