A large Ethereum (ETH) whale had a 28,716-ETH long position liquidated during a market selloff while continuing to hold long positions worth about $195.57 million.

The liquidated position was valued at $69.69 million. The whale still held 78,955 ETH in long positions after the liquidation, indicating that the forced closure affected only part of its exposure.

The reported liquidation prices for the positions were $2,299.09 and $2,286.28. A liquidation occurs when an exchange automatically closes a leveraged position after its collateral no longer supports the trade.

The event highlights the scale of leveraged ETH exposure held by individual on-chain traders during sharp market moves.
