Silver Rises 1.25% to $59.545 as Gold Gains and Oil Falls
Silver reached $59.545 an ounce at 9:01 p.m. ET Thursday, while selected European equity benchmarks posted mixed results.

Silver rose 1.25% to $59.545 an ounce at 9:01 p.m. ET Thursday, Oct. 8 (01:01 UTC Friday, Oct. 9), while gold gained 0.22% to $4,143.44 an ounce.
Selected European equity benchmarks posted mixed results. The Euro Stoxx 50 slipped 0.03% to 6,150.68, while the FTSE 100 rose 0.07% to 10,530.1 and the DAX 40 gained 0.1% to 25,007.3.
Oil prices moved lower, with West Texas Intermediate crude down 0.22% at $92.82 a barrel and Brent crude down 0.13% at $107 a barrel.
The dollar fell 0.02% against the offshore Chinese yuan to 6.70154 and rose 0.1% against the yen to 158.028.
