Broad Crypto Selloff Pushes Bitcoin Below $81,000, Ether Under $2,500
Crypto sectors fell broadly over 24 hours, with the AI sector down 5.09% and several major tokens posting steeper losses.

Bitcoin (BTC) fell below $81,000 during the session and Ether (ETH) dropped under $2,500 as a broad crypto selloff pushed most tracked sectors lower over 24 hours.
Bitcoin declined 1.55%, while Ether lost 3.88%. The AI sector fell 5.09%, led lower by Bittensor (TAO), Virtuals Protocol (VIRTUAL) and Venice Token (VVV), which dropped 7.27%, 8.34% and 10.24%, respectively. SoSoValue (SOSO) rose 13.11% against the sector’s broader decline.
Other major sectors also weakened. DeFi fell 3.97%, CeFi declined 4.23%, meme tokens dropped 4.58% and Layer 1 assets lost 4.96%. Layer 2 fell 1.47%, although Starknet (STRK) gained 21.98%, while NEAR Protocol (NEAR) dropped 12.46%.
