Hyperliquid Protocol Revenue Surpasses $1 Billion as HYPE Burns Top 41 Million
The platform generated about $492 billion in trading volume during the first quarter, while 97% to 99% of protocol fees funded HYPE buybacks.

Hyperliquid’s cumulative protocol revenue exceeded $1 billion on June 30, marking a major milestone for the decentralized perpetual-futures trading platform and its HYPE token economy.
The platform has repurchased and burned more than 41 million HYPE tokens, with the removed tokens valued at over $1 billion. About 97% to 99% of protocol fees are directed through the Assistance Fund to buy back HYPE on the open market.
Hyperliquid processed approximately $492 billion in trading volume during the first quarter of 2026, ranking second by volume behind Coinbase. Its protocol revenue comes mainly from fees charged when traders open or close positions and when new markets are created.
The platform operates its own blockchain. Its HIP-3 system allows users to create permissionless markets based on price feeds, expanding the types of assets that can be traded.
Funding payments between long and short traders are exchanged directly between those sides, rather than retained by the protocol.
