Stellar Holds Near $0.20 as Futures Open Interest Climbs 10.54%
XLM fell 1.76% over 24 hours on Binance spot while negative funding and buyer-heavy taker activity pointed to conflicting market signals.

Stellar (XLM) traded at $0.20 on Binance spot on Oct. 9 as a 1.76% daily decline coincided with higher futures activity and conflicting positioning signals.
XLM’s reported 24-hour range was $0.19 to $0.20. The token was near the lower Bollinger Band at $0.19, while the middle and upper bands stood at $0.21 and $0.23, respectively.
Binance futures open interest increased 10.54% over the 24 hours ending at 4 a.m. ET (08:00 UTC), reaching about $40.7 million across 198.3 million contracts. The increase shows that more futures positions were outstanding, but it does not establish whether new longs or shorts accounted for most of the change.
Funding was -0.0167% per eight-hour settlement. Negative funding generally means short-position holders pay long-position holders. Binance’s global account long/short ratio was 1.0068, with 50.2% of accounts net long and 49.8% net short.
Positioning among top traders was more tilted toward longs, with a 1.3590 long/short ratio. The group was 57.6% long and 42.4% short. The prior one-hour taker buy/sell ratio was 1.3232, reflecting buy volume of 3,643,310 against sell volume of 2,753,428.
Momentum readings remained mixed. The 14-period relative strength index was 44.22, while the stochastic oscillator showed %K at 19.65 and %D at 15.72. The moving average convergence divergence reading and signal line were both 0.0023, leaving the histogram at zero.
Short-term moving averages clustered near $0.21, with the seven- and 20-period simple moving averages and the 12- and 26-period exponential moving averages all at that level. The 50-period simple moving average was $0.20, while the 200-period average was $0.18.
The market levels identified in the latest setup placed immediate support at $0.19 and stronger support at $0.18. Immediate resistance was $0.20, followed by stronger resistance at $0.21. The figures extend earlier coverage of XLM’s $0.20 support, where market readings also showed differing signals around the token.
