MARA Holdings transferred 996.105 Bitcoin (BTC) worth about $81.13 million to a wallet labeled Galaxy Digital, putting renewed focus on the miner’s bitcoin sales activity.

The transfer moved BTC from a wallet labeled “MARA Miner” at about 2:55 p.m. ET on Oct. 8 (18:55 UTC). The transaction confirms the movement of the coins but does not establish that MARA sold them on the open market.

MARA sold approximately 23,093 BTC for $1.6 billion during the six months ended June 30, an average of $70,631 per bitcoin. The company held 35,577 BTC at the end of that period, including 9,270 BTC tied to its digital-asset management strategy.

MARA’s bitcoin policy permits sales of both newly mined coins and holdings from its balance sheet. The company has said those sales support operations, growth opportunities and liquidity management.

The purpose of the latest transfer—whether a sale, custody arrangement, collateral movement or another transaction—has not been established.
