Six large crypto transfers totaling about $1.48 billion were recorded over three hours through 11:03 a.m. ET (15:03 UTC) Oct. 9, led by a 500 million Tether (USDT) transfer between Binance and Tether Treasury.
The Binance-to-Tether Treasury transaction was valued at $499.9 million and occurred at 9:21 a.m. ET (13:21 UTC). A matching 500 million USDT transfer from Tether Treasury to Binance followed at 10:09 a.m. ET (14:09 UTC), valued at $499.8 million.
The activity also included 2,000 Bitcoin (BTC) worth $166 million moving from an unidentified wallet to Bitfinex at 9:21 a.m. ET (13:21 UTC). Bitfinex transferred 140 million USDT worth $139.9 million to Tether Treasury at 8:04 a.m. ET (12:04 UTC).
Another 110 million USDT worth $109.9 million moved from Tether Treasury to Upbit at 9:21 a.m. ET (13:21 UTC). The final transfer sent 24,672 Ether (ETH) worth $61.5 million from an unidentified wallet to Coinbase Institutional at 10:44 a.m. ET (14:44 UTC).
Transfers from unidentified wallets into exchanges totaled $227.5 million. No tracked funds moved from exchanges to unidentified wallets during the period.
