Bitcoin needs to reclaim $82,800 to regain momentum after a sharp pullback, as U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded $729 million in combined net outflows across two trading sessions.

Bitcoin (BTC) fell from an Oct. 5 peak near $86,995 to a low around $80,400 before rebounding to about $82,500. Reclaiming $82,800 would improve the asset’s short-term market structure.

U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded $484.9 million in net outflows on Oct. 7 and another $244.1 million on Oct. 8. The funds had recorded a $118.8 million net inflow on Oct. 6.

BlackRock’s IBIT led outflows on Oct. 7 at $207.7 million, followed by Fidelity’s FBTC at $105.1 million and ARK 21Shares’ ARKB at $101.7 million. FBTC recorded the largest outflow on Oct. 8 at $197.1 million.

Bitcoin declined about 2.6% on Oct. 7 and 1.9% on Oct. 8. Derivatives open interest declined from $28.162 billion on Oct. 6 to $26.972 billion on Oct. 8 before rising to $27.134 billion on Oct. 9.

Long liquidations in Bitcoin totaled about $220.17 million, compared with $45.71 million in short liquidations. Across the broader crypto market, long liquidations reached $930.49 million, while short liquidations totaled $162.06 million.

A more constructive scenario depends on Bitcoin moving above $82,800, healthier derivatives positioning and reduced ETF outflows. A sustained move above the level could open a test of the $85,000-$87,000 range.

A break below approximately $80,400 would bring the $79,700-$77,000 area into focus as a potential demand zone. The $70,500-$72,900 range is a deeper potential support area. Neither range represents a confirmed market floor.

The $82,800 level is a technical reclaim threshold rather than established support. Bitcoin previously faced a separate support test near $82,000 after retreating from its September high.
