An unidentified Ethereum (ETH) trader had 28,716 ETH worth $69.69 million liquidated during the Oct. 9 market selloff, while maintaining a much larger leveraged long position.

The trader continued holding 78,955 ETH in long positions valued at approximately $195.57 million. The remaining exposure carried liquidation levels of $2,299.09 and $2,286.28.

The liquidation covered only part of the trader’s visible position on Hyperliquid, a trading platform that allows leveraged crypto positions. In a leveraged trade, borrowed exposure can amplify losses and trigger a forced closure when collateral falls below required levels.

The trader’s identity, leverage, collateral, entry prices and any hedges held outside Hyperliquid were not disclosed. No exact liquidation timestamp was provided.
