Morning market: Bitcoin at 112.9 million won as Bithumb’s Talus jumps 106.6%

Bitcoin traded at 112.9 million won as domestic crypto turnover reached 2.2 trillion won. Talus led gainers with a 106.6% jump on Bithumb.

As of 7:30 a.m. on Oct. 10, the domestic crypto market showed renewed risk appetite. Twenty-four-hour turnover on Upbit and Bithumb reached 2.2 trillion won, while 43 of the 59 tokens with at least 5 billion won in turnover rose, putting the advance ratio at 73%.

Major tokens were steady to higher. Bitcoin traded at 112.9 million won, up 0.5% from 24 hours earlier, while Ether was at 3.4 million won, unchanged at 0.0%.

Individual tokens included a triple-digit move. The biggest gainer was Talus on Bithumb, which jumped 106.6% to 43.67 won and drew 94.5 billion won in turnover. Magic rose 79.8%, while Basic Attention Token gained 30.7%.

On the downside, Origin Protocol fell 20.9% and Elysia declined 11.2%.

By absolute turnover, Kaia led with 138.7 billion won, followed by XRP (Ripple) at 104.3 billion won and Talus at 94.5 billion won. The top five tokens accounted for roughly one-fifth of total market turnover.

Some tokens also saw a sharp increase in overnight activity. Basic Attention Token’s recent six-hour hourly turnover rose to 2.8 times its previous 18-hour average, while its price gained 30.7%. Its 24-hour turnover, however, was about 7.5 billion won, leaving its share of the overall market limited.

In derivatives, 176.63 million dollars was liquidated over 24 hours. Longs accounted for 50.1% and shorts for 49.9%, leaving liquidations nearly balanced. Deribit Bitcoin options had a put-call ratio of 1.08 by volume, indicating more positioning for downside protection.

Investor sentiment weakened. The Fear and Greed Index fell to 59 from 64 a day earlier, remaining in the "greed" zone. The kimchi premium, the gap between Korean and overseas crypto prices, stood at +2.2%, keeping domestic prices slightly above global levels.
