Robinhood Chain activity declined sharply in early October as transaction counts, active addresses and spot trading volume fell, while capital held in applications and perpetual-futures trading remained elevated.

The network averaged 6.2 million daily transactions from Oct. 2–8, 2026, down 42% from 10.8 million during Sept. 10–16. Transactions declined 20% from the prior week, while average daily active addresses fell 31% from mid-September to about 322,000.

Transaction counts do not equal user counts. One trader can control multiple addresses, and automated systems can generate transactions.

Spot trading volume dropped 21% to $7.45 billion during the latest seven-day period from $9.46 billion the previous week. Uniswap accounted for about 77% of the volume.

Average daily network fees fell 39% week over week to about $65,000 from Oct. 2–8. The network’s reported peak was about $8 million in a single day in early September.

Capital held across lending and trading applications moved in the opposite direction. Deposits rose about 2% week over week to $1.04 billion, while stablecoin supply reached about $1.10 billion. Some stablecoins may also be counted within application deposits, so the figures can overlap.

Perpetual-futures volume increased 26% to about $7.35 billion on a rolling seven-day basis. The figures show lower transaction intensity and spot activity alongside higher derivatives volume and balances above $1 billion, but they do not establish why activity changed.

Robinhood launched the public mainnet July 1, 2026. Robinhood Chain is a permissionless Ethereum Layer 2 built using Arbitrum technology, with applications for tokenized assets, lending and borrowing. Its launch partners included Uniswap and Pleiades.

Robinhood senior vice president and general manager of crypto and international Johann Kerbrat said, “We’re bringing the best of traditional finance and DeFi together, and in doing so, expanding financial ownership to every corner of the globe.”

Earlier periods also showed high activity. More than 340,000 tokens had been issued on the network by the end of August, while meme-token trading paired with Robinhood Stock Tokens reached $518 million. Application-layer fees totaled $114 million in August.

Deposits in Robinhood Earn rose from $9.5 million on July 1, 2026, to $456 million on Aug. 31. The available data do not establish whether the decline is temporary or reflects a broader change in usage.
