Crypto Market Cap Holds at $2.80 Trillion as Bitcoin Edges Higher
Bitcoin rose 0.44% to $82,675, while total crypto market capitalization fell 2.45% and liquidations reached $99.7 million.

Bitcoin edged higher during the overnight and Asia session Oct. 10, but the broader crypto market declined as total capitalization fell and derivatives traders recorded nearly $100 million in liquidations.
Bitcoin (BTC) traded at $82,675 at 1:03 a.m. ET (05:03 UTC), up 0.44% over 24 hours. Total crypto market capitalization stood at $2.80 trillion, down 2.45%, while marketwide trading volume reached $70.98 billion.
The move followed a sharper decline in the previous session, when total crypto market capitalization fell 3.80% to $2.79 trillion and liquidations reached $740.7 million. The latest market update showed a smaller liquidation total and a modest gain for BTC.
Ether (ETH) rose 0.19% to $2,494, while XRP gained 1% to $1.41. BNB increased 0.87% to $747.34, and Solana (SOL) declined 0.23% to $109.88. Dogecoin (DOGE) advanced 1.58% to $0.0863.
Bitcoin accounted for 59.1% of the total crypto market, while Ether represented 10.8%. Among the top 39 cryptocurrencies, Polkadot (DOT) posted the strongest performance, rising 9.24%. Pump.fun (PUMP) was the weakest, falling 1.93%.
Liquidations across Binance, Bybit and OKX totaled $99.7 million over the 24-hour period. Short positions accounted for $55.6 million, while long positions made up $44.1 million.
