Bitcoin traded near $83,000 on Oct. 10 after a 3.6% weekly decline, with narrower losses from NEAR and Monero highlighting uneven performance across major crypto assets.

Bitcoin (BTC) reached about $80,400 on Oct. 8 after several failed attempts to reclaim $87,000. The move erased nearly $7,000 over several days before BTC recovered above $83,000.

NEAR Protocol’s NEAR token fell 0.3% over the same seven-day period, while Monero (XMR) declined 1.3%. Both losses were smaller than Bitcoin’s, although the comparison covers a volatile period rather than a consistent trend.

NEAR had gained 91.7% over the previous month before rising more than 10% on Oct. 10 to about $5.25. That larger monthly advance makes its limited weekly decline less conclusive as a measure of broader market strength.

Monero’s smaller loss also does not show whether the token benefited from buying, limited selling or lighter trading. Weekly returns alone do not identify the cause of relative performance.

The broader market remained under pressure. Thirteen of 16 large tokens tracked during the period fell more than Bitcoin. Stellar posted the steepest decline at 13.5%, while XRP dropped 9% despite XRP funds recording $8.2 million in inflows.

Bitcoin ETFs recorded $244 million in net outflows in one day. Bitcoin’s market dominance rose to 59.5%, and its market capitalization stood near $1.66 trillion.

The total crypto market value recovered to about $2.8 trillion after dropping roughly $200 billion from its high to low. Ether (ETH) rebounded toward $2,500 after touching $2,400, while XRP rose from $1.34 to about $1.41.

Cardano’s ADA gained about 7% to reclaim $0.255, and NEAR led the daily rebound among larger altcoins. Bitcoin remained below its earlier $87,000 test but above the week’s low, keeping support near $83,000 in focus.
