Crypto liquidations fell far short of $19 billion on Oct. 10, 2026, with measured totals indicating that the widely circulated figure was likely tied to a record-scale event from the prior year.

Liquidations totaled $91.63 million in the 24 hours ending at 2:55 a.m. ET (06:55 UTC) Saturday. Short positions represented 62.39% of the forced closures.

Bitcoin (BTC) accounted for $46.89 million of the liquidations, followed by Ether (ETH) at $20.61 million and Solana (SOL) at $6.79 million.

A separate 24-hour measurement covering the market decline on Oct. 9 showed about $1.19 billion in liquidations, including more than $1 billion in long positions. The differing totals reflect separate measurement windows and coverage.

The liquidation event above $19 billion occurred on Oct. 10, 2025, when a sharp market selloff forced the closure of heavily leveraged positions. Long liquidations made up approximately 85% to 90% of that event.
