ASML Holds Above Daily EMAs Ahead of Oct. 14 Results
The stock closed at $1,780.34 on Oct. 9, remaining above its 20-, 50- and 200-session EMAs while weaker hourly indicators pointed to near-term pressure.

ASML Holding N.V. closed above its daily exponential moving averages on Oct. 9, while weaker hourly indicators showed near-term pressure ahead of the company’s scheduled third-quarter results on Oct. 14.
ASML shares rose $10.55, or 0.6%, to finish at $1,780.34 at 4 p.m. ET (2000 UTC). The stock traded between $1,778.00 and $1,825.57 during the session.
The close was above the 20-session exponential moving average at $1,771.59, the 50-session EMA at $1,744.24 and the 200-session EMA at $1,549.15. Daily relative strength index, or RSI, stood at 52.44, while the moving average convergence-divergence histogram remained positive at 2.67, down from 6.37 on Oct. 8.
Shorter-term readings were less supportive. ASML finished below its 20-hour EMA at $1,795.45 and its 50-hour EMA at $1,803.73, but remained above its 200-hour EMA at $1,770.71. Hourly RSI was 42.41, and the hourly MACD histogram was negative at -0.24.
The next-session daily pivot was $1,794.64. First resistance stood at $1,811.27, while first support was $1,763.70.
ASML’s third-quarter results are scheduled for 1 a.m. ET (0500 UTC) on Oct. 14. The company’s second-quarter results included net sales of €9.326 billion, net income of €2.9 billion and a 54.0% gross margin. ASML forecast third-quarter sales of €11 billion to €12 billion and raised its 2026 sales outlook to €43 billion to €45 billion.
ASML produces lithography systems, software, metrology and inspection equipment used by chipmakers. Its extreme ultraviolet lithography technology is used in the production of advanced chips.
The scheduled results release is the next major event for the stock.
