Bitcoin trades at 113.35 million won as 66% of active Korean crypto names rise
Bitcoin traded at 113.35 million won as 35 of 53 active Korean crypto names advanced. Kaia led turnover despite a 9.2% decline, while liquidations reached $158.83 million.

As of 7:30 a.m. on Oct. 12, risk appetite had returned to South Korea's crypto market. Twenty-four-hour turnover on Upbit and Bithumb, the country's two major exchanges, stood at 1.7 trillion won, while 35 of 53 tokens with turnover above 5 billion won advanced, leaving the gainers' ratio at 66%.
The two major assets both rose. Bitcoin traded at 113.35 million won, up 0.2% over 24 hours, while Ethereum rose 0.5% to 3.43 million won.
The top gainer was Upbit-listed Nervos (CKB), which jumped 38.4% to 2.74 won and drew 22.94 billion won in turnover. CUDIS rose 36.2%, while Magic gained 29.1%.
On the downside, Talus fell 36.7% and MovieBloc dropped 33.6%. Kaia declined 9.2% but still recorded 93.45 billion won in turnover, suggesting concentrated profit-taking.
By absolute turnover, Kaia led the market with 93.45 billion won, followed by Doppler Finance at 71.64 billion won and XRP at 68.06 billion won. The top five tokens accounted for about 20% of total market turnover.
Some tokens saw a sharp overnight increase in activity. Filecoin's recent six-hour hourly turnover rose to 5.3 times its prior 18-hour average, while its price gained 10.7%. Its 24-hour turnover was 7.24 billion won, leaving its overall market share limited.
In derivatives, $158.83 million was liquidated over 24 hours. Longs accounted for 52.7% and shorts 47.3%, leaving both sides broadly balanced. Deribit Bitcoin options showed a put-call ratio of 0.79 by volume, indicating more activity on upside positioning.
Sentiment weakened. The Fear and Greed Index stood at 61, down from 64 the previous day, while remaining in greed territory. The kimchi premium was +1.1%, meaning domestic prices stayed slightly above global levels.
