Zest Protocol’s ZEST token gained 14.18% over 15 minutes and briefly reached 0.23 USDT before Bithumb’s planned listing in its Korean won market.

ZEST was quoted at 0.22 USDT at 10:45 p.m. ET Sunday (02:45 UTC Monday). The price move came after Bithumb announced plans to list the token, without establishing that the planned listing caused the gain.

Trading was scheduled to begin at 1 a.m. ET (05:00 UTC) on Oct. 12. The planned listing would give ZEST access to a new trading venue in South Korea.

Zest Protocol launched a capped mainnet demo on Sept. 23 that lets users borrow USD Coin (USDC) against native Bitcoin (BTC) without wrapping the asset or transferring it to a custodian. Users deposit BTC into self-custodial Taproot vaults on the Bitcoin network, while Ethereum-based smart contracts track collateral and manage borrowing positions.

TokenPost previously covered Bithumb’s planned ZEST listing.
