Bitcoin (BTC) has rebounded above $85,000 as an on-chain seller-exhaustion indicator approaches levels associated with prior local tops, raising the risk of additional selling pressure from short-term holders.

The indicator combines profitable supply with market volatility to identify periods of elevated or subdued market risk. Its latest reading has reached a key threshold near levels seen during previous local tops in the current market cycle.

The reading does not confirm that concentrated selling is taking place. Because volatility generally declines over time, the broader trend matters more than any single reading. The increase follows a prior rise in Bitcoin’s seller-exhaustion indicator.

Bitcoin is also facing an on-chain cost-distribution zone between $84,000 and $85,000. About 53% of invested capital is concentrated above $83,000, making the $84,000-$85,000 range the largest holding cluster identified in the analysis.

Some holders may take profits or reduce losing positions as Bitcoin returns to their purchase costs, creating potential resistance in that range. A move higher would require enough demand to absorb those sell orders and push the price above the concentrated supply zone.

The analysis identifies $77,000 to $79,000 as a potential support range if Bitcoin fails to clear $84,000-$85,000. Market demand and volatility remain key variables as traders assess whether the rebound can absorb the supply overhead.
