Options markets are pricing sizeable stock moves for seven major financial companies reporting third-quarter results this week, giving investors another test of the sector as financial stocks remain flat in 2026.

Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan Chase, Citigroup and Wells Fargo are scheduled to report Tuesday, Oct. 13. Bank of America, Morgan Stanley and BlackRock are due to report Wednesday, Oct. 14.

The implied moves are 2.84% for Goldman Sachs, 2.5% for JPMorgan Chase, 3% for Citigroup, 3.5% for Wells Fargo, 2.9% for Bank of America, 3% for Morgan Stanley and 3.3% for BlackRock.

The financial sector is the third-worst-performing sector in the S&P 500 this year. The market expectations reflect the potential for sharp reactions as investors weigh higher interest rates and pressure on consumers.

Goldman Sachs’ implied move is above its average reaction of about 2% over the past eight quarters. The stock rose 9% after its July results, its largest post-earnings move since January 2019.

JPMorgan Chase’s expected move is close to its eight-quarter average of 2.22%. Its stock rose 2.5% after the July report, marking its first positive reaction since April 2025.

Citigroup has gained 11% this year, the strongest performance among the companies reporting this week. Its 3% implied move is below its eight-quarter average of 3.8%. The stock fell 5.3% after its previous report, compared with a 3.5% implied move.

Wells Fargo has declined 10% this year and has disappointed in its last three earnings reports. Its 3.5% implied move is below its eight-quarter average of 5.6%.

Bank of America’s 2.9% implied move is above its eight-quarter average of 1.8%. A gain would extend its positive post-earnings streak to three reports.

Morgan Stanley’s implied move is below its eight-quarter average of 4.3%. The stock has declined only once in its past eight reporting quarters. A gain would extend its positive reaction streak to five reports.

BlackRock, an asset manager, has an implied move of 3.3%, below its eight-quarter average of 4.4%. A gain would also extend its positive reaction streak to five reports. The stock rose nearly 7% after its July results.

The earnings releases will add to this week’s market schedule, alongside the consumer price report Wednesday and the producer price report Thursday. The broader schedule follows earlier coverage of the six major U.S. banks reporting this week.
