ROTH Puts Technology and Semiconductor ETFs at Top of October Picks
ROTH’s list also includes utilities and bonds as short-term tactical opportunities, while large-cap funds receive preference over small-cap exposure.

ROTH’s October exchange-traded fund selections emphasize technology, semiconductors and cloud computing, while the firm also identifies utilities and bonds as short-term tactical opportunities.
The list includes the State Street Technology Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLK), along with SMH, XLU, AGG, RSPH, PIE, CANE, XSW, ARKW and WCLD. Semiconductor, technology and cloud-computing funds lead the firm’s Quant rankings.
ROTH favors large-cap resilience over small-cap exposure and maintains a constructive technical view of energy and large-cap biotech. The firm also sees utilities and bonds as short-term tactical opportunities, citing technical support and pessimistic sentiment toward bonds.
That view does not amount to a call that the bond market has reached a bottom. ROTH also notes that quantitative ratings and technical assessments may produce different signals, meaning funds with low Quant ratings can still show technical setups that support potential gains.
