NEAR Token Gains 11.3% as Weekend Trading Activity Accelerates

NEAR Protocol’s native token rose 11.3% on Oct. 11, reaching $5.93 before closing at $5.89 as trading activity accelerated across the weekend period.

NEAR traded near $4.89 on Oct. 9 and reached about $5.44 on Oct. 10. Trading volumes across the relevant dates ranged from roughly $803 million to $1.7 billion.

Bitwise’s NEAR ETF, ticker NRR, began trading on NYSE Arca on Sept. 29, giving U.S. investors spot exposure to NEAR through an exchange-traded product. The fund carries a 0.75% management fee.

Separately, a NEAR governance proposal would lower the network’s maximum annual token issuance from 2.5% to 1.6% gradually over 24 months. The proposal still requires governance and validator adoption before it becomes a network change.
