South Korea’s KOSPI Closes Down 5.47% as Chip Stocks Slide
SK Hynix dropped 10.09% and Samsung Electronics fell 7.38% in a semiconductor-led selloff on Oct. 13.

South Korea’s KOSPI index plunged 5.47% on Tuesday, with steep losses in major semiconductor companies marking a sharp risk-off move in one of Asia’s most important technology markets.
The index fell 348.9 points to close at 6,035.34. SK Hynix dropped 10.09%, while Samsung Electronics declined 7.38%.
The losses put South Korea’s chipmakers at the center of the session’s market decline. Both companies are major participants in the global semiconductor industry, making their share moves relevant to broader technology and risk sentiment.
