Bitcoin (BTC) rose above $84,000 on Oct. 13 after gaining 1.47% over 24 hours, putting the cryptocurrency back at a price level it revisited earlier this month.

The move followed another test of $84,000 on Oct. 1. Bitcoin crossed the level for the first time in November 2024, when it set a record high, and moved above $104,000 on May 18, 2025.

The latest advance comes after Bitcoin crossed $64,000 on Aug. 17, 2026. Its return above $84,000 in October places the market at a level that has shifted from a former record area to a key point in the recovery from the 2025 decline.

Bitcoin was up 0.97% at the start of October, making the latest 24-hour gain larger. The cryptocurrency’s next market test is whether it can remain above $84,000 after breaking through the level for a second time this month.
