Dogecoin Falls 3.37% as Taker Selling Outpaces Buying
DOGE traded at $0.08 after touching the bottom of its 24-hour range, while futures open interest rose 8.16% to about $233 million.

Dogecoin (DOGE) fell 3.37% to $0.08 on Oct. 13 as one-hour taker activity favored sellers and futures positioning sent mixed signals about near-term market exposure.
At 3 a.m. ET (07:00 UTC) Tuesday, DOGE was at the bottom of a $0.08-$0.09 24-hour range. The token traded below its seven-, 20-, 50- and 200-day simple moving averages and its 12- and 26-period exponential moving averages, each listed at $0.09.
Bollinger Bands placed DOGE at $0.08 on the lower band, $0.09 at the midpoint and $0.10 on the upper band. The token’s %B reading was 0.1541.
Momentum readings also remained soft. The 14-period daily relative strength index stood at 42.88, while the moving average convergence divergence and signal line were both -0.0012. The stochastic oscillator showed %K at 26.67 and %D at 21.33.
One-hour taker activity showed 68,878,697 DOGE in sell volume against 55,264,501 DOGE in buy volume. The resulting taker buy/sell ratio was 0.8023, indicating greater selling volume during the period.
Futures open interest on Binance increased 8.16% over 24 hours to approximately $233 million as DOGE declined. The increase does not identify whether traders added long or short contracts. The eight-hour funding rate was -0.0006%.
Account positioning remained tilted toward long exposure. Binance’s global account long/short ratio was 2.4247, with 70.8% of accounts long and 29.2% short. Among top traders, the ratio was 3.1545, with 75.9% long and 24.1% short.
The combined readings show immediate selling pressure alongside long-heavy positioning, but they do not establish DOGE’s next direction.
An Oct. 12 technical setup placed DOGE in a possible $0.081-$0.092 range, with $0.078 and approximately $0.0673 identified as downside levels. A move toward $0.100-$0.106 was presented as a conditional scenario if DOGE reclaimed $0.092, rather than as a guaranteed forecast.
