Bitcoin’s market share rose to about 60.28% on Oct. 13 as smaller tokens lagged during a rebound from a short-term decline, reversing some of the market-share gains altcoins had made since August.

Bitcoin (BTC) fell 2.71% from its pre-drop price before rebounding 2.84% from its low, briefly recovering the decline. Its market share approached an early-September high as other tokens suffered deeper losses and recovered less.

Of 169 actively traded tokens tracked during the same downturn window, 158 fell more than Bitcoin. After the rebound, 153 remained below their pre-drop prices, representing about 90.5% of the sample.

The sample’s median token recovered about 54% of its loss.

The move reverses the direction described in earlier coverage of falling Bitcoin dominance, when stronger weekly gains among altcoins pushed Bitcoin’s market share down to 56.5%.
