AI Stocks Create Nearly $5 Trillion in China Market Capitalization
AI-linked companies now represent 42% of combined A-share and Hong Kong market capitalization and 57% of trading value.

Chinese artificial-intelligence companies have created nearly $5 trillion in market capitalization through share-price gains and initial public offerings since the beginning of 2025, reshaping the weight of AI stocks in China’s markets.
AI stocks now account for 42% of combined market capitalization across China’s A-share and Hong Kong markets. They also represent 57% of total trading value across the two markets, showing the sector’s influence on both valuations and investor activity.
The shift followed the “DeepSeek moment” in early 2025, when advances in domestic AI technology helped strengthen expectations for China’s AI industry. The growth has extended across companies linked to advanced semiconductors, open-weight large language models and applications.
China remains a key exporter in the global AI supply chain. Chinese companies hold about 50% of the worldwide market in some AI power and infrastructure segments.
Domestic advances have also helped build a more self-contained AI value chain, linking hardware, models and applications within China’s technology ecosystem.
