Apple Shares Stay Above Key Averages as Intraday RSI Enters Overbought Zone
Apple traded at $345.98 at 10:46 a.m. ET on Oct. 13, while hourly and 15-minute RSI readings topped 70 during the open session.

Apple shares remained above their major daily exponential moving averages on Oct. 13 as shorter-term momentum entered commonly overbought territory during the open session.
Apple traded at $345.98 at 10:46 a.m. ET (14:46 UTC), up 1.47% from the previous close of $340.97. As of that snapshot, Apple had opened at $344.68, reached $341.12 and risen to $348.11.
The shares remained above the 20-session exponential moving average at $335.16, the 50-session exponential moving average at $327.19 and the 200-session exponential moving average at $297.49. The daily moving average convergence-divergence line was 4.16, above its 3.89 signal line, leaving a 0.27 histogram.
Shorter-term readings were more stretched. The hourly relative strength index, or RSI, was 70.53, down from 72.69 in the prior candle. The 15-minute RSI was 78.99, down from 80. Readings above 70 are commonly viewed as overbought, but they do not by themselves confirm a reversal.
The daily RSI was 64.34. Apple also traded above the daily upper Bollinger Band at $344.44, the daily pivot at $340.40 and first resistance at $343.20. Daily support was listed at $338.17.
Momentum signals differed across shorter time frames. The hourly MACD histogram rose to 0.74 from 0.60, while the 15-minute histogram fell to 0.58 from 0.63. The hourly pivot was $345.25, and the 15-minute pivot was $346.16. Fifteen-minute support stood at $345.38, with the upper band and first resistance between $346.71 and $346.77.
Apple also announced Apple HomeView on Oct. 13. HomeView pairs a 7-inch Liquid Retina display with entertainment, communication and smart-home functions. Preorders began in the United States and several other markets at $299, with availability scheduled to begin Nov. 13.
“Apple HomeView makes it easy to choose smart home accessories with confidence,” said Matthew Costello, Apple’s vice president of Hardware Engineering.
Apple worked with LG Electronics and Schneider Electric on accessories compatible with Apple Home, emphasizing simplicity, reliability and privacy.
Because the Oct. 13 session was still open, the price, daily range and indicators could change.
