Pinnacle Food Group Limited shares rose 63.6% to $4.27 at 10:33 a.m. ET Tuesday after the company announced a laboratory milestone in its recombinant human lactoferrin program, putting $4.37 in focus as the next technical level.

The stock was up from a previous close of $2.61, with 68,695 shares traded at the time of the snapshot. The $4.37 level represents the daily upper Bollinger Band, a volatility-based market indicator used to track potential price boundaries.

Pinnacle Food AgTech HK Limited, the company’s wholly owned subsidiary, completed its first bench-scale fermentation of a first-generation recombinant human lactoferrin strain in a 5-liter fermenter on Oct. 13.

Laboratory testing confirmed expression of the protein through high-performance liquid chromatography, sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis and immunoblotting.

“Completing our first bench-scale fermentation and confirming rhLF expression is an important step for our biotech program,” Chief Executive Officer Jiulong You said.

Pinnacle’s biotechnology work remains at an early stage and requires additional research, testing, optimization and regulatory review before commercialization.
