Saudi Arabia carried out airstrikes in Yemen’s capital, Sanaa, as Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree threatened retaliation against Saudi energy infrastructure, raising risks for regional security and global oil markets.

The strikes targeted the Yemen Oil Company’s Sabah central station. The action followed Houthi attacks on Saudi airports and oil facilities, including a deadly strike on Riyadh’s airport.

Saree said the Houthis were confronting Saudi fighter jets over Sanaa and warned of severe retaliation. Saudi Aramco facilities could be among the potential targets, increasing concern over the security of the kingdom’s oil infrastructure.

The escalation also raises questions about Saudi airspace security. Further Houthi military actions, Saudi responses or diplomatic intervention could shape regional security and market expectations.
