Binance’s seven-day measure comparing large- and small-holder XRP outflows rose 10.5 percentage points from Oct. 7 to Oct. 13, outpacing the increase across centralized exchanges and widening the gap between the readings.

Binance’s Whale vs. Retail Spread climbed from 53% to 63.5%. The reading across centralized exchanges rose from 46% to 47.7%, a 1.7-point gain. Binance’s increase was about 6.2 times larger, and the Oct. 13 gap between the readings was 15.8 percentage points.

The indicator uses a seven-day average to compare the relative difference between large- and small-holder XRP exchange outflows. A higher reading means large-holder withdrawals have greater weight relative to retail-sized activity. It does not show whether the absolute amount withdrawn by large holders increased or establish that they are accumulating XRP.

A similar divergence appeared on Aug. 3, when the Binance reading was 62% and the centralized-exchange reading was 44%, an 18-point gap. XRP was near $1.07 then and rose 46% over the following weeks to about $1.56. That earlier price move does not show that the spread caused or reliably predicted the increase.

XRP was trading at $1.36 as of press time.
