Canada’s Crypto Transfers to Three Asian Countries Jump 141%
Remittance-sized Bitcoin and stablecoin transfers totaled $2.36 billion from July 2025 through June 2026, across 3.56 million transactions.

Canada led the Group of Seven in peer-to-peer crypto activity as remittance-sized transfers to India, China and the Philippines reached $2.36 billion from July 2025 through June 2026, up 141% year over year.
The transfers involved Bitcoin (BTC) and stablecoins across 3.56 million transactions, averaging $663 each. The monthly average was 75,100 unique senders.
The three countries accounted for 19.4% of Canada’s outbound cross-border stablecoin value, up from 10.9% a year earlier. The $2.36 billion total covers remittance-sized transfers to those countries, not all money sent from Canada to Asia.
Canada ranked seventh globally in domestic and cross-border crypto flows. Stablecoins made up 44% of Canadian-dollar-based crypto order book volume in June 2026, compared with 30% in June 2025.
Morva Rohani, executive director of the Canadian Web3 Council, said, “Remittance corridors to India, the Philippines, Nigeria, Pakistan, and China are heavily used.” The relationship between temporary-visa population trends and domestic peer-to-peer crypto activity is correlational, not causal.
