Dogecoin Trades Near $0.0824 as Futures Funding Stays Positive
Open interest fell from about $652 million on Oct. 12 to $598 million the next day, then recovered to $609 million.

Dogecoin (DOGE) traded near $0.0824 after sliding from $0.088 on Oct. 12 to $0.080 the next day, while positive futures funding left long-position holders paying traders on the short side.
The funding rate was 0.0088%. A positive rate means traders holding long positions pay those holding short positions; it describes the direction of payments, but does not explain DOGE’s price movement.
DOGE futures open interest stood at about $652 million on Oct. 12. By the following day, it had dropped to $598 million, then edged back up to $609 million. Open interest tracks the value of outstanding contracts, so the sequence shows a contraction followed by a partial recovery.
Funding and open interest measure different parts of the futures market. The reported figures show that open interest fell while the funding rate remained positive, without establishing why the rate stayed positive. The move follows earlier coverage of Dogecoin futures positioning.
