Bitcoin Hits $80,154 as South Korea’s KOSPI Posts Lowest Close Since April
The KOSPI fell 7.5% Thursday, with chipmakers SK Hynix and Samsung Electronics among the hardest-hit stocks.

Bitcoin (BTC) fell to $80,154 Thursday, its lowest level in more than three weeks, as a sharp sell-off in South Korean stocks weighed on market sentiment. South Korea’s benchmark KOSPI closed at 5,554, its weakest close since April 8.
The index dropped 7.5% on the day, bringing its losses for the week so far to 15.5%. Technology stocks led the decline: SK Hynix shares slid 11%, while Samsung Electronics fell 9.5%.
Bitcoin’s intraday low was last reached Sept. 20. The KOSPI’s drop put the country’s technology-heavy stock market back near levels last seen in early April, while crypto also faced pressure.
Samsung Electronics is scheduled to release third-quarter earnings Oct. 29, following SK Hynix’s report on Oct. 28.
