SOX Logs Fourth 10% Correction Since Early June, Most in Similar Period Since 2002
The index fell 4.30% on Oct. 14, closing at 11,684.38 after a 524.41-point drop.

The PHLX Semiconductor Sector Index has logged four separate corrections of at least 10% since early June, the most in a similarly short period since late 2002.
The index fell 4.30%, or 524.41 points, to 11,684.38 on Oct. 14. It measures 30 of the largest U.S.-listed semiconductor companies.
The four corrections were separate pullbacks, not four single-session losses. The index also fell 7.5% over the two weeks through Oct. 14, a period covered in an earlier report on its two-week decline.
