Bitcoin Whale Balances Add 84,000 BTC in 30 Days as Weekly Growth Slows

Weekly growth fell to 16,500 BTC from about 55,000 BTC around the turn of October, while a separate 30-day apparent-demand measure remained negative at 23,000 BTC.

Bitcoin whale balances in a tracked address cohort reached 3.02 million BTC, up about 84,000 BTC in 30 days, while weekly growth slowed and a separate apparent-demand measure stayed negative.

The cohort’s balance increased 2.85% over the 30-day period. Weekly growth reached about 55,000 BTC around the turn of October, then eased to 16,500 BTC over the latest seven days.

The separate 30-day apparent-demand measure stood at negative 23,000 BTC in its latest reading. It improved from negative 207,000 BTC on Sept. 20 to negative 12,000 BTC on Oct. 8 before falling again.

A separate estimate put Bitcoin whale balances at nearly 3 million BTC, up about 60,000 BTC from roughly 2.94 million in late August. That estimate covered a different period, so the figures describe distinct snapshots.

The measures show different trends: balances in the tracked cohort rose, while apparent demand remained below zero. The balance increase alone does not show whether the coins were bought on spot markets or whether holders intend to keep them.

The cohort excludes addresses identified as exchanges and mining pools. Address-label changes can shift cohort membership and affect historical readings, so the figure describes the tracked group rather than all Bitcoin holdings.

An earlier 3.03 million BTC whale reading came from a different snapshot and should not be treated as directly comparable with these readings.
