Moderna Shares Rise 4.5% Ahead of Melanoma Trial Results
The Phase 3 INTerpath-001 findings are scheduled for presentation Oct. 24 in Madrid. The companies disclosed no numerical efficacy results in August.

Moderna shares closed up 4.51% Thursday at $236.50, nine days before the scheduled presentation of detailed Phase 3 results for its personalized melanoma treatment with Merck. The stock gained $10.20 from its previous close of $226.30.
Moderna had also reached a 52-week high on Oct. 9, when its shares rose just over 14% to close at $225 in a previous session.
The INTerpath-001 trial tested intismeran autogene, also known as V940 or mRNA-4157, with pembrolizumab (Keytruda) after surgery in patients with completely resected stage IIB-IV melanoma. The investigational mRNA treatment is individualized using mutations found in each patient’s tumor.
The Phase 3 INTerpath-001 trial met its primary endpoint of recurrence-free survival and a key secondary endpoint of distant metastasis-free survival. The improvements over Keytruda alone were statistically significant and clinically meaningful, but numerical efficacy results were not disclosed. The study continues to evaluate overall survival.
The detailed results are scheduled for Oct. 24 at 10:30 a.m. ET (14:30 UTC) during the European Society for Medical Oncology Congress in Madrid. The presentation is listed for Presidential Symposium I, with Professor Georgina V. Long as presenter.
