[Editor’s note] A decentralized exchange, or DEX, is a blockchain-based cryptocurrency venue that enables direct peer-to-peer trading without an intermediary. Smart contracts and on-chain data provide operational transparency, while users retain control of their assets by trading directly from connected wallets. DEXs have also gained traction by supporting rapid listings of new tokens.
