MSCI Adopts Rule That Could Remove Strategy From Indexes
The changes are scheduled for the November review. Existing constituents must fail the new screen in both of their two latest annual filing periods to be removed.

MSCI has adopted an eligibility rule that could remove Strategy from its indexes if the company fails a new screen in both of its two latest annual filing periods.
The proposal sets an eligibility screen for non-operating companies in MSCI's global indexes. Under the adopted rule, existing constituents that fail the screen in both periods would be removed. The announcement does not establish that Strategy has failed the test.
In January, MSCI deferred a proposal to exclude digital asset treasury companies from the February review and planned a broader consultation. An August consultation described a simulation using May 2026 data. Applying the proposal to the MSCI ACWI IMI in that exercise would have put Strategy, Yellow Cake and Metaplanet among three hypothetical deletions.
MSCI announced its decision Oct. 15, with minor changes to the proposal. The changes are scheduled for the November review.
