Moderna shares closed 7.82% lower at $218.01 on Oct. 16, after a morning snapshot showed a steeper decline and a split between hourly and daily moving averages.

Shares lost $18.49 from Thursday’s $236.50 close. At 10:40 a.m. ET (14:40 UTC), they traded at $212.74, down 10.05% from the previous close. The final loss was smaller than the midmorning decline.

At that time, the 20-, 50- and 200-session exponential moving averages (EMAs) stood at $198.69, $161.94 and $93.20, respectively, all below the share price. The 20-hour EMA was $224.91 and the 50-hour EMA was $216.36, both above the morning price. Hourly relative strength index (RSI) was 40.04; daily RSI was 59.3, down from 71.72.

The readings differed by time frame: the share price sat above all three session-based averages and below both hourly averages in the morning snapshot.

Data from the Phase 3 INTerpath-001 melanoma trial are scheduled for presentation Oct. 24 at 10:30 a.m. ET (14:30 UTC). In August, Moderna and Merck announced that the trial of intismeran autogene plus Keytruda met its primary endpoint of recurrence-free survival and a key secondary endpoint of distant metastasis-free survival. The trial enrolled 1,137 patients and will continue to evaluate overall survival.

Moderna has also scheduled an investor webcast for 1 p.m. ET (17:00 UTC) on Oct. 24.
