Bitcoin and Ether Rates Were Neutral as Some Venues Show Bearish Readings
Weighted funding rates ranged from 0.0053% to 0.0057%, below the 0.01% bullish threshold and above the 0.005% bearish threshold.

Bitcoin (BTC) and Ether (ETH) perpetual futures funding rates were in a neutral range on Oct. 18, though some platforms had bearish readings, showing that market positioning varied across venues.
BTC traded at $81,758.98, up 0.22% over 24 hours. ETH was at $2,416.25, down 0.69%. BTC's position-weighted and trading-volume-weighted funding rates were 0.0055% and 0.0053%, respectively. ETH's two weighted rates were both 0.0057%.
The 0.01% level is the benchmark rate; readings above it indicate bullish sentiment, while rates below 0.005% indicate bearish sentiment. The four weighted readings fell between those thresholds. Funding payments pass between long and short traders in perpetual futures to help keep contract prices near spot prices, and the rates were standardized to an eight-hour period.
Some individual platforms had bearish readings, while futures-market sentiment for ETH was slightly stronger than for BTC.
