Bitcoin (BTC) traded near $81,000 Sunday as U.S. spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) recorded $614.7 million in net outflows through Oct. 16, leaving demand a central test for the $100,000 case.

The outflow total covers trading from Oct. 1 through Oct. 16 and excludes the next U.S. session on Oct. 19. Flows were not negative every day: the funds recorded net inflows on six of the 12 trading days, but withdrawals on other sessions left the period’s total below zero.

Consumer prices rose 0.6% in September from August on a seasonally adjusted basis and 3.7% from a year earlier. The annual increase was 3.4% through August. The latest monthly reading and the year-over-year rate provide additional context for markets ahead of the Federal Reserve’s next meeting.

The coming schedule includes China’s third-quarter economic report, set for 10 p.m. ET Sunday, Oct. 18 (02:00 UTC Monday). U.S. September housing data, including housing starts, is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 20, at 8:30 a.m. ET (12:30 UTC). The Federal Reserve’s next meeting is set for Oct. 27-28.

Strategy’s latest disclosed purchase adds one confirmed example of corporate demand. The company bought 250 BTC for $21.5 million during the week of Oct. 5-11, at an average price of $86,194 per BTC. Its holdings stood at 848,250 BTC as of Oct. 11, with an average purchase price of $75,444 per BTC. Those figures document activity during that week and do not establish a continuing buying pace.

The $100,000 case also includes potential supports such as stronger ETF demand, easier Federal Reserve policy, regulatory changes, additional corporate buying and Treasury actions. These remain scenarios, while the Strategy purchase is completed. The next scheduled markers are China’s economic report Sunday night ET and U.S. housing data Tuesday morning.
