South Korea’s KOSPI fell 3.17% intraday and moved below 5,600, giving U.S. traders tracking Asian risk appetite a sharp early-session signal from the region’s equity market.

SK hynix shares dropped 4%, while Samsung shares fell 3%. Among the two named chipmakers, SK hynix’s decline was one percentage point steeper. These losses accompanied the KOSPI’s slide, showing pressure in the index and two major Korean technology stocks. The index captures a wider market move; the company figures reflect share declines in individual firms.

The 3.17% figure describes an intraday move rather than a closing result. The drop below 5,600 marks the level the index breached during the opening stretch of trading.

For U.S. crypto traders, the equity slide offers a snapshot of risk sentiment during Asia’s session. The figures cover South Korean stocks and do not show whether digital assets moved in tandem. The KOSPI and the two chipmakers are the concrete markers of the reported market pressure.
