Wormhole (W) Falls 5.84% as Futures Volume Tops Spot Trading
Open interest was $35.74 million, while futures volume reached $50.09 million against $6.54 million in spot trading.

Wormhole (W) fell 5.84% in 24 hours to $0.012973 in a market snapshot taken at 1:03 a.m. ET (05:03 UTC) Oct. 19, as futures turnover reached about 7.7 times spot trading.
Futures volume for the same 24-hour period was $50.09 million, compared with $6.54 million in spot volume, a difference of $43.55 million. Open interest stood at $35.74 million.
The nearly 7.7-to-1 ratio shows that futures trading was much heavier than direct spot trading during the measured period. It does not show whether futures positions were predominantly bullish or bearish, and the volume split alone does not establish what caused W to fall.
W is Wormhole’s native multichain asset, used for governance, staking and ecosystem growth. Its maximum supply is 10 billion tokens.
If W’s price rises alongside higher spot volume, that would show increased spot turnover, but the figures alone would not show how many traders participated. The Oct. 19 snapshot records a decline and a volume split; it does not establish that a recovery or a shift toward spot trading has begun.
