South Korea’s National Pension Fund (NPS) saw its stakes of at least 5% in 287 listed companies fall $137 billion in value from the end of June to Oct. 15, as chip stocks declined.

The decrease marked the first quarterly decline for the portfolio since the fourth quarter of 2024. It followed record-high returns in the first half of the year.

Shares in Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix were among those that fell during the period.
