Bank of America Securities raised Dow Inc. (DOW) from Underperform to Neutral amid firmer chemical prices, expectations of prolonged energy inflation and signs of steadier earnings.

Dow’s net sales rose 20% year over year to $12.1 billion in the second quarter. Higher polyethylene prices across all regions helped drive the increase.

Dow is scheduled to report third-quarter earnings Thursday, Oct. 22.
