Bitcoin (BTC) was listed at $82,315.14 when checked at 6:34 p.m. ET (22:34 UTC) on Oct. 19, remaining above $80,000 as recent rebounds continued to stall near $84,000. The chart setup treats $80,000 as a key pivot, with downside areas varying by timeframe.
The daily chart places $80,000 near the midpoint of an ascending channel that began around late-June lows near $58,000. BTC has been turned back near $88,000 twice since late September. A sustained move above $84,000 would put the $86,000-to-$88,000 resistance area back in focus.
A daily close below the channel midpoint near $80,000 would put an area around $77,000 in view. The four-hour chart marks a separate potential support area near $75,000 if BTC breaks below $80,000 and a rising trendline.
The 30-day exponential moving average of adjusted Spent Output Profit Ratio (aSOPR) has turned lower since early October. The measure tracks whether spent Bitcoin outputs moved at an average profit or loss, excluding outputs less than one hour old. It adds context to the pullback but does not establish the market’s next direction.
