RBC Capital Markets sees U.S. stocks holding firm even as early third-quarter 2026 earnings results come in modestly softer than many expected, with companies largely emphasizing underlying resilience.

The early results and the broader market have moved in different directions: corporate earnings have been softer than anticipated, while U.S. equities have remained on solid footing.

On Oct. 14, RBC lowered its rating on technology stocks from overweight to market weight. The bank pointed to a slower pace of upward earnings estimate revisions for semiconductor companies and a risk of further weakness in the sector.
