XRP Market Cap Exceeds XLM’s by $76 Billion in Oct. 20 Snapshot
Stellar had $4 billion in tokenized real-world asset value as of Sept. 1. That figure measures assets represented on the network, not the market value of XLM.

XRP’s market capitalization exceeded Stellar Lumens (XLM) by $76.114 billion in an Oct. 20 research snapshot, highlighting the difference between token valuations and the value of assets represented on the Stellar network.
A capture at 12:55 a.m. ET (04:55 UTC) put XRP’s market cap at $82.378 billion, compared with $6.264 billion for XLM. XRP’s valuation was about 13.15 times larger. The figures are a snapshot of the comparison, rather than a measure of how much either network is used.
XRP was priced at $1.30, with 63.13 billion tokens in circulation. XLM stood at $0.1779, with 35.209 billion circulating. Market capitalization is calculated from a token’s price and circulating supply, so both figures matter when comparing assets with different prices.
Stellar had $4 billion in tokenized real-world asset value on its network as of Sept. 1, 2026. The network has 67 tokenized products and 10 regulated issuers. The $4 billion represents the value of assets recorded on Stellar; it is separate from XLM’s market cap and does not measure transaction activity.
XLM is used to pay Stellar transaction fees and smart-contract rent and to meet account-balance requirements. A basic Stellar account requires a minimum balance of 1 XLM. Those uses do not mean that each dollar of assets tokenized on Stellar requires a dollar of XLM purchases.
The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) and the Stellar Development Foundation announced May 27 that they plan to tokenize assets held in custody by The Depository Trust Company (DTC) on Stellar. The plan is part of DTCC’s strategy to use multiple blockchains. U.S. Treasury securities, major-index exchange-traded funds and Russell 1000 constituents are among the potential assets under evaluation; the announcement sets no commercial-volume figure.
The SEC lists both XRP and XLM as examples of digital commodities. That shared designation does not account for the difference between their market caps, and the planned DTC connection does not establish a level of future XLM demand.
DTCC and the Stellar Development Foundation expect DTC-tokenized assets to become available on Stellar in the first half of 2027.
